Tanisi is a global retreat brand rooted in cultural immersion, wellness, and sustainability. The project brought together design innovation, storytelling, and a deep respect for indigenous communities to build a brand that invites travelers on transformative, tech-free journeys. Our studio crafted Tanisi’s brand identity, digital presence, and supporting materials with intention, warmth, and a global spirit.

Tanisi means “hello” in Cree - reflecting a sense of welcome, connection, and cultural depth. This project challenged us to translate the heart of tribal wisdom and modern wellness into a visually captivating and emotionally resonant brand. From identity to interface, every design decision was guided by the values of inclusivity, minimalism, and authenticity.

Creative Process

  • Discovering the Vision
    We began by understanding the deeper mission of Tanisi—fostering global connection through cultural immersion and wellness. We studied travel behavior, wellness trends, and tribal culture to align the brand with the values of mindfulness, respect, and authenticity.

  • Defining the Audience
    Our next step was to define a diverse audience of mindful travelers—individuals seeking meaningful experiences beyond typical tourism. These user personas guided both content and visual design decisions, from interface flow to tone of voice.
  • Exploring and Concepting
    We brainstormed around natural forms, tribal patterns, and spiritual symbols. Through sketches, color testing, and moodboards, we arrived at the balance between earthy tones and contemporary elegance—leading to the signature “T” logo and visual language.
  • Designing with Purpose
    Every element—from the logo’s dots inspired by tribal wooden markings, to the organic blobs in the background—was crafted with intention. Colors, typefaces, and shapes all reflect the calm, inclusive, and nature-connected spirit of Tanisi.
  • Prototyping and Iterating
    We developed high-fidelity mockups of the website and branding materials, incorporating feedback to refine usability and visual harmony. The business card, reimagined as a bookmark, went through multiple rounds to balance function and storytelling.
  • Creating Meaningful Touchpoints
    Beyond aesthetics, we introduced purposeful features like personalized directions and sign systems for future use during retreats. These ideas extended the brand into real-life experiences, staying true to Tanisi’s promise of connection and care.

Result

Tanisi emerged as a soulful, design-rich brand that blends tradition with innovation. The creative strategy and thoughtful design execution resulted in a visual language that resonates emotionally and functionally. The brand’s assets - digital and print - invite curiosity, trust, and lasting engagement from a global audience.
